We didn't know Mr Squires personally but both my son and I wanted to say how sorry and shocked we were to hear of his passing. We attended the Denbigh open day in October 2021 and he welcomed us into Denbigh at the door. He joked with my son that there was a competition running and when my son asked what the prize was, he said 'an iPhone 13!'. My son was obviously very wowed by this :0) and yes, he cottoned on to the fact that Mr Squires was indeed joking after a minute or two ;0) It was clear that Mr Squires had such a lovely, fun character and that he was as much in tune with the kids as he was with adults. We also saw him the night after at Watling Academy. His passing is very sad, more so because he was so young. No doubt he is huge loss to the school and those that knew him.
